Highwire Family is built around your family's private life. We take privacy seriously: your data stays on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We do not sell data. We do not share data with advertisers. Full stop.
1. Who We Are
Highwire Family is an iOS application developed and operated by Highwire Family, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). You can reach us at privacy@highwirefamily.com.
Our registered domain is highwirefamily.com.
2. What Data We Collect
Highwire Family collects only what is necessary to deliver its core features:
- Calendar data — read from your iOS calendar to detect conflicts and generate advisories. This data is processed locally on your device.
- Family member information — names, dietary preferences, and schedule information you voluntarily enter for household management features.
- Meal and grocery preferences — foods your family eats, dietary restrictions, and preferred stores you choose to record.
- Subscription status — managed through Apple's App Store. We receive only anonymized transaction receipts; we never see your payment details.
We do not collect your location, contact list, health data, browsing history, or any data not directly relevant to household management.
3. How Your Data Is Stored
All data you enter into Highwire Family is stored in two places:
- Your device — locally on your iPhone via Core Data.
- Your personal iCloud account — synced via Apple's CloudKit framework, which means it is governed by Apple's iCloud privacy policies and stored in your private iCloud container. We cannot access your iCloud data.
We do not operate our own servers. We do not have a backend database containing your personal information.
4. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to provide the features of Highwire Family:
- Generating scheduling advisories and conflict detection
- Building and personalizing meal plans for your household
- Creating grocery lists organized by your preferred stores
- Displaying the household load map and responsibility distribution
Your data is never used for advertising, profiling, or sold to third parties — ever.
5. Calendar Access
Highwire Family requests read access to your iOS calendar to generate advisories. This access is:
- Granted by you through iOS system permissions — you are always in control
- Used only to read events for conflict detection; we never write to your calendar without explicit action from you
- Revocable at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars
Calendar data is processed on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
6. Third-Party Services
Highwire Family uses the following third-party services:
- Apple CloudKit — for iCloud sync. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store / StoreKit — for subscription management. We receive only anonymized receipt data.
- RevenueCat — for subscription processing. RevenueCat receives anonymized subscription status only; it does not receive your personal family data. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com.
We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or tracking libraries.
7. Children's Privacy
Highwire Family is designed for use by adults managing a household. The app is not directed at children under 13. Children may be represented as family members within the app by a parent or guardian, but children should not independently create accounts or use the app directly.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided personal information through our app, contact us at privacy@highwirefamily.com.
8. Data Deletion
You can delete all data associated with Highwire Family at any time:
- In-app — Settings → Account → Delete All Data
- iCloud data — Settings (iOS) → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Highwire Family → Delete
- Contact us — Email privacy@highwirefamily.com and we will confirm deletion within 30 days
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights including access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, and deletion of your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@highwirefamily.com.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notification. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
